Socio-technical Systems / People and Stuff

Organizations operate with socio-technical systems, STS. Both elements, people and process must be available for tweaking if the total entity is expected to function effectively with any constancy. My experience is that the "technical" system, "the way we process around here", gets a lot more time and attention the "socio" part of the system equation.

Since without people there would be no organization, focusing on the people element is what it takes for a humming machine. Current business leadership is still preoccupied with things and profit. Until we have a leadership system that recognizes and honors human dignity, we will continue to have some form of "great resignation" and "quiet quitting."
